Project Engineer cum Coordinator Location: Oman Employment Type: Full-time Department: Engineering / Project Management Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Engineer cum Coordinator to oversee, coordinate, and execute our ongoing and upcoming electrical and solar energy projects in Oman. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, liaising with clients and utility authorities (specifically Nama Group entities), ensuring strict compliance with HSE standards, and driving multiple projects to successful completion on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities 1. Client & Stakeholder Coordination Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities. Actively follow up on ongoing jobs, project deliverables, variations, and approvals with clients. Prepare and submit regular progress reports, look-ahead schedules, and technical documentation to clients. Coordinate approvals, inspections, and project handovers with Nama Group (Nama Electricity Distribution, Nama Transmission, etc. ). 2. Project Planning & Execution Simultaneously manage and coordinate multiple electrical and solar energy projects from site mobilization through commissioning. Prepare detailed project schedules, work plans, and resource allocations. Monitor daily site activities, ensure alignment with approved drawings and specifications, and resolve site technical issues promptly. Supervise site engineers, supervisors, and sub-contractors to ensure quality standards and project deadlines are met. 3. Technical & Domain Oversight Review electrical design drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), technical submittals, and material requisitions. Ensure all electrical and solar installations adhere to Omani utility standards, grid code requirements, and local regulations. Oversee solar PV site layout, cable routing, inverter/transformer integrations, and grid connection procedures. 4. HSE & Compliance Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies across all job sites. Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and ensure tool-box talks are regularly delivered. Ensure all work complies with Nama HSE standards, Omani Labor Law, and international safety protocols. Report and investigate any site incidents, near-misses, or unsafe acts immediately. Qualifications & Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Energy. Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on project engineering/coordination experience in Oman. Mandatory: Proven track record of direct coordination and approvals with Nama Group entities. Strong expertise in Electrical and Solar PV / Renewable Energy projects. HSE Knowledge: Certified HSE training (e. g. , NEBOSH, IOSH, or Nama HSE clearance/induction) is strongly preferred. Skills: Ability to multi-task and handle multiple active project sites effectively. Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Project, or Primavera P6, and standard office software. Excellent spoken and written English; Arabic communication skills are a strong plus. Valid Oman Driving License (required).
